Vein Treatment

Typically, patients will undergo a trial period of conservative therapy to include prescription compression hose, leg elevation, and exercise. However, a large number of patients will not experience sustainable relief of their symptoms and will require further intervention.

At Golden Triangle Vein Center, we use the Cool Touch Laser. The Cool Touch Laser provides an ideal minimally invasive treatment for the endovenous ablation of veins.  The 1320 nm wavelength targets water in the vessel wall, which means a much more comfortable procedure for patients with less postoperative bruising or swelling. With the CoolTouch laser, venous disease can be treated in the office, and patients can be back to normal activity the next day. Now there is no reason to postpone treatment and continue enduring the pain, discomfort, and unsightly disfigurement that is often caused by venous disease.

ELAT Procedure

Until recently, the removal of varicose veins required actual vein stripping - a surgical procedure that requires hospitalization and a painful recovery period. The FDA - approved Endovenous Laser Ablation Therapy (ELAT) procedure is a minimally invasive treatment. It has been shown to be highly effective in treating varicose veins.

Sclerotherapy

Veins can also be treated by an injection method called sclerotherapy. The sclerosing solution is injected with a tiny needle, and it irritates the vessel lining. Over a period of weeks, the vein will typically fade. It is very common to have to inject these veins more than once to achieve the desired result. Spider vein sclerotherapy can give you a more youthful look.

Microphlebectomies

Microphlebectomy, also known as ambulatory phlebectomy, is a method of removing varicose veins on the surface of the legs. It is done in the office under local anesthesia with sedation. This procedure involves making tiny punctures or incisions through which the varicose veins are removed. The incisions are very small, and stitches are rarely required.  After treatment, a compression bandage or compression stocking is worn. Our vein care team will provide you with written instructions after your procedure.
